I know that the work is good and they’re excited over at ABC and Disney and it’s getting some really good feedback. It’s not just a little, insignificant kind of role. It’s meaty, which is good.
Fortunately and unfortunately, people don’t see me as a character actor. They see me as a leading man or nothing, which makes it really hard to get work.
I had the privilege of being able to choose, or at least have the opportunity to work at, being anything but an actor.
It’s a character that I always found really likable. I’m fond of Zorro because he was a popular figure who worked for the people.
Nothing can substitute for just plain hard work. I had to put in the time to get back. And it was a grind. It meant training and sweating every day. But I was completely committed to working out to prove to myself that I still could do it.
