“Death is a long process,” Archer says. “Your body is just the first part of you that croaks.” Meaning: beyond that, your dreams have to die. Then your expectations. And your anger about investing a lifetime learning shit and loving people and earning money, only to have all that crap come to basically nothing. Really, your physical body dying is the easy part. Beyond that, your memories must die. And your ego. Your pride and shame and ambition and hope, all that Personal Identity Crap can take centuries to expire.

We are meant to be here. We step from one piece of holy ground to the next under stars that ask “Imagine, for one second, you could drop in on a past life. What would you like to find yourself doing there? What would charm you, make you proud?” Ask yourself that, and the question of what to do in this life becomes so simple its terrifying. Just to do that thing that would charm you, that would make you say, “Yes, its the real me”. Do that, and you’re alive.

Manchester has it’s own pride and London has it’s sort of pride and sometimes we can be a bit mean to each other, but I think if we dig the music we can get on really well.
