Every line of Trek script I write is another inspiration for a band name. Full Impulse. Evasive Maneuvers. Dammit Man. The Illogicals.
I had a 102 fever, and they got me drunk. I heard their stuff and really wanted to be a part of it. It’s like I met them and all of a sudden I knew them very well.

I love the band, I love the songs Julian writes. I love working on them. I’ve learned so much from every band member. So it’s nothing weird.
I’d still like to hear that thing the Arctic Monkeys guy did with the Rascals guy [the Last Shadow Puppets]. I think it would have been cooler if he had done it with me. I still want to hear it; I’m curious— everyone’s been talking about it.
I’m a huge fan of the chorus. It’s our first single that’s written by a bunch of us, so that’s kinda exciting … or very exciting; it depends on how you want to think about it.
I loved it when we played it last time (in 2002). Absolutely loved it. It was one of the coolest festivals. No offense to American festivals, but it felt very European. It’s outdoors but it’s warm, which is so important.
But those audiences in Spain, they were just so stoned. I don’t like playing to audiences like that because they just don’t do anything. I’m up here with my band and we’re working really hard and they are just stoned.
